Cell Phones Recalled Due to Dangerous Radiation Levels

LG has recalled thousands cell phones in Canada. The LG 150 cell phone has been found to produce dangerous levels of radiation, higher than the allowable Canadian limits for safetly.

This is the first time that a cell phone has been recalled in Canada due to excessive radio frequency (RF) radiation levels.

How can you be sure that your cell phone is safe? While it is not really a true indication of safety, it is a good idea to research the SAR of the cell phone you are looking to purchase. The SAR provides some measure of how much radiation a mobile phone produces, and is an accepted standard.

One of the best ways to limit your exposure to cell phone radiation is by using an airtube headset for cell phones, and also by using a cell phone chip.

Scientists Urge Legislators to Research Dangers of Cell Phone Use and Cancer

David Carpenter, director of the Institute of Health and Environment at the University of Albany, has told legislators that the need for further research into the safety of cell phones is needed.

Carpenter, along with Ronald Herberman, director of the University of Pittsburgh Cancer Institute, have suggested that cell phones "need a precautionary message."

Carpenter questioned, "Are we at the same place we were with smoking and lung cancer 30 years ago?" It took many years before researchers were able to declare conclusively that cigarettes cause lung cancer.

Radio frequencies and radiation produced by mobile phones are especially hazardous to young children. The younger a child is, the more cell phone radiation penetrates the brain.

Research published recently from the Royal Society in London discovered that children and teens who start using cell phones before the age of 20 had 5 times the risk of developing brain cancer by the age of 29.

Most researchers say that evidence is inconclusive, and that they cannot declare that cell phones pose any danger or health risk.

Despite this, numerous countries advise parents not to allow their children to talk on cell phones and to limit cell phone usage.

Cell Phone Radiation May Cause Kidney Damage and Heart Failure

A recent study performed by the European Research Institute for Electronic Components out of Bucharest, Romania has shown that exposure to cell phone radiation causes red blood cells to leak hemoglobin.

Hemoglobin transports oxygen through the body. When it accumulates in the blood, it can cause heart disease and kidney stones to develop.

Scientists discovered that when blood is exposed to microwave radiation, at even lower levels than those produced by cell phones, those blood cells will leak hemoglobin.

Similarly, scientists in Sweden have determined that as little as two minutes of exposure to cell phone radiation can disable a safety barrier in the blood which allows toxins and proteins to leak into the brain.

Numerous studies exist showing the dangers of radio frequencies emitted by mobile phones. Some countries are taking action, issuing warnings about cell phone use.

In France, new legislation will make marketing cell phones to children under 12 illegal.

How Airtube Headsets Can Protect You from Cell Phone Radiation

An airtube headset can be a valuable tool to protect your brain from cell phone radiation. Brain cancer is on the rise as is cell phone use.

An airtube headset is a headset that attaches to your cell phone or cordless phone. It has a wire like many headsets. At the end of the wire is a small speaker and then a 6 inch long tube. This tube works a lot like a stethoscope.

This tube serves to provide a gap between the transmition of radiation from your phone to your head.

Holding your phone to your ear allows the radiation from your phone to enter your head through the soft tissues of your ear. Over time, this can make you more susceptible to brain cancer. In the short term it can cause headaches, attention disorders, changes in your brainwaves, and sleep disorders.

A regular wired headset allows the radiation from your cell phone to travel up the wire to your head. Additionally, it can act as its own antenna, grabbing up radiation from the environment and directing it at your head.

An airtube headset does not allow this to occur. Because of the air gap, any radiation that travels from your phone or the environment up the cord of your headset is dispersed before it reaches your head and sensitive brain tissues.

This can effectively reduce the radiation to your brain to zero.

Bluetooth and other wireless headsets are NOT safe. Microwaves generated by the mobile phone are wirelessly transferred and directly transmitted into the ear canal and surrounding head region by the blue tooth device.

Airtube headsets are the safest way to talk on your wireless phone. They are inexpensive and work great.

Children's Health Risk is High from EMFs and Cell Phone

The Russian Government has issued a health warning regarding cell phone use in children. The Russian National Committee on Non-Ionizing Radiation Protection has produced a statement that "the potential risk for the children's health is very high."

The Russian Ministry of Health has previously recommended that children under 18 not use mobile phones.

Their report states the following:

"─ the absorption of the electromagnetic energy in a child’s head is considerably higher than that in
the head of an adult (children’s brain has higher conductivity, smaller size, thin skull bones,
smaller distance from the antenna etc.);
─ children’s organism has more sensitivity to the EMF, than the adult’s;
─ children’s brain has higher sensitivity to the accumulation of the adverse effects under
conditions of chronic exposure to the EMF;
─ EMF affects the formation of the process of the higher nervous activity;
─ today’s children will spend essentially longer time using mobile phones, than today’s adults will."

"According to the opinion of the Russian National Committee on Non-Ionizing Radiation Protection,the following health hazards are likely to be faced by the children mobile phone users in the nearest future: disruption of memory, decline of attention, diminishing learning and cognitive abilities, increased
irritability, sleep problems, increase in sensitivity to the stress, increased epileptic readiness."

A child's scull and tissues are significantly softer than those of an adult. This results in a greater penetration of electromagnetic and rf energy into their brains, causing a greater disruption of their nervous system.

There is not enough awareness about how harmful exposure to cell phone radiation can be for children.

SAR is Not a Good Measure of Cell Phone Safety

The Specific Absorbtion Rate (SAR) is the standard used to measure how safe a cellular phone for your body. SAR measures heating or thermal radiation. In other words, how hot your mobile phone gets while you are talking on it.

These limits are only for non-ionizing radiation like heat, and do not take into account ionizing radiation levels such as those from electromagnetic fields (EMF), power frequencies (ELF), and radiofrequencies (RF).

Blood tests and studies of DNA have shown that emf such as that emitted from mobile phones causes DNA damage. This cellular damage can result in varieties of health problems including stress, headaches, tension,sleep disorders and even cancer.

SAR, the safety standard assumes that EMF causes biological damage only by heating,
but cell damage occurs in the absence of heating and well below the safety limits. It is high time that the government reexamine their safety standards for wireless phones and do something to protect the health of the public.
